Malvern Cycle Sport run a calendar of club time trials each year, from May to August. Races take place on alternate Thursday evenings, with a 7pm start. In the event of bad weather, or issues such as roadworks on the courses, the course may be changed at short notice, or the event cancelled. There will be prizes for MCS members, with overall MCS male and female prizes for the series being counted from each person’s best 4 results.
The second Welland Hilly event will also be designated a trophy event, with a 1st place trophy available for each of the top male and female entrants!
Entry is £3 cash on the night (£4 for non-MCS members), or if you know that you will be doing 3 or more events in the series, you can pay £9 as a season ticket in advance by bank transfer (Malvern Cycle Sport, 30-95-41, 20505460) and not have to worry about bringing cash each time (and if you take part in any more than 3 events, it’s a bargain!)
Any bikes (non-electric) are welcome – road bikes, TT bikes, cx bikes – just let the time keeper know at sign on which type of bike you are on so they can note that down for road bike vs TT bike prizes – road bike criteria are:
1. No aerobars, clip on aerobars or aero extensions can be used
2. Hands must be holding the handlebars at all times whilst racing (i.e. not with forearms resting on the handlebar)
3. Wheels must have a minimum of 12 spokes each, and have a maximum rim depth of 90mm
4. Helmets must have no visor
5. Ears must not be covered by the helmet (in addition Giro Aerohead helmets are not permitted)
Please also remember that you must have these to take part:
1. A helmet
2. A working, visible, rear red light and white front light
